In addition to the visible seams, the low back and rounded shapes help give Space a light and unpretentious look. And because outdoor spaces are as different as people, the sofa can of course also be pieced together in countless ways. The armrest can, for example, be replaced by a side table top in teak or white Cane-line HI-Core. New dining tables focusing on materials and detailed design

Two new tables from Cane-line with attention to detail

Whether the material is steel or teak, the details and sublime craftsmanship are in focus in the two new table ranges Cane-line is launching in 2019.

The Drop and Endless tables are as different as they can be; Drop is cool elegance while Endless is warm and invites touch. However, both have attention to detail and good craftsmanship in common.

Drop is the clean-cut, elegant table, designed by Cane-line’s own design team with a view to the range being flexible and to match the many chair designs that Cane-line already has in its collections.

The name of the table refers to the aluminium frame, which has a teardrop-shaped profile – a profile that makes the joints between the legs and the frame extra elegant and worth noticing. Drop is powdercoated in light grey or lava grey and is available in many sizes as a dining table with and without an extension leaf, as a high bar table and as a café table. Practical features include heightadjustable legs, so that the table stands steadily on an uneven surface, and space to accommodate the extra leaves in the frame of the large tables. The café table has a tabletop made of powdercoated aluminium. The other tables have a particularly robust ceramic tabletop.

Endless is the designer duo Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen MDD’s tribute to beautiful, durable teak. It is teak of the slow-growing type with a special glow and sturdiness. A quality that invites particular care and respect. Endless is available as long, rectangular tables with space to seat both family and friends, and as smaller, round tables. Both types have a tabletop with staggered slats and the unusually beautiful underframe. This is where Cane-line’s talented cabinetmakers really come into their own with beautiful joints and not a screw to be seen! Teak can withstand being outside all year round due to its naturally high content of oil. Over time, the wood takes on a grey, almost silvery, surface. If you wish to preserve the warm golden tone, simply apply a good wood oil.

With Drop, Cane-line is bringing another room from inside the house out into the garden. Cane-line’s new outdoor kitchen is designed so that everyone can enjoy a drink together while the dinner is being prepared.

Cane-line has spent the past 30+ years making the outdoor living room every bit as comfortable and carefree as the one indoors. And now the Danish design company is moving yet another of the home’s most important rooms outside with a modular outdoor kitchen. The Drop kitchen is the epitome of clean-cut design, without too many frills, yet packed with carefully considered details – it goes without saying that we must be able to cook in first class conditions outdoors.

A perfect match

Drop is designed to go with Cane-line’s other furniture. Above all, this comes down to the choice of materials: Aluminium with lava grey powder coating and beautiful teak – two materials that contrast beautifully with one another and give the design character. The kitchen stands on high legs with the same teardrop-shaped profile as the new tables from the Drop range, which would be the obvious neighbour to the outdoor kitchen. It is these teardrop shaped legs that have spawned the name “Drop” for the range.

Drop is a simple design with decorative perforations. Minimalist handles are repeated as holders for tea towels and other utensils at the end of the worktop. The design is also fitted with a removable waste box with two buckets for sorting and with a lid and handle. The worktop has an elegant, integrated sink and mixer tap – all in stainless steel in a fabulous, sturdy quality.

Light grey success story spreads across the patio

Last year’s new colour, Scandinavian light grey, has become such an overwhelming success for Cane-line that the summery, light grey tone is now being launched in a number of the company’s classics as well as the new product, Struct, a high-end director’s chair for outdoor use.

Light grey is an all time favourite for sofas in the living room, but outside, black, dark grey, brown and beige have long been the go-to colours when it comes to garden furniture. This is all set to change now. In 2017, Cane-line, Denmark’s largest manufacturer of quality furniture for outdoor use, launched a new light grey hue, Scandinavian light grey, on a variety of furniture. The summery, exclusive colour has become such a rip-roaring success that it is now spreading to the popular Conic and Breeze ranges. Comfort and togetherness are keywords in the Peacock range. For the 2019 season, we will be turning up the soft options and seating experience when the range is launched in a soft rope material. We will also be seeing the addition of a sofa with the same elegant profile, a footstool and a sun lounger that you can almost move into.

The Peacock lounge range has become a major success story for Cane-line and the designers behind it, Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen MDD. The successful basic shape and the designer duo’s close collaboration with the craftsmen at Cane-line’s factory in Indonesia have provided inspiration for further designs and new materials for the range. A teak frame still forms the base for the design, so the range matches the tables in the new Endless range – and brings a natural warmth to the outdoor area between concrete, plastic and steel. Teak is also the only wood that can withstand being outside all year round, and the teak Cane-line user comes from WWF-GFTN certified production, which supports responsible forest management.

The seat, back and armrest on top of the teak frame are hand-woven on an aluminium frame to form the rounded peacock shape, requiring unusually skilled craftsmen. One dining chair alone takes up to a day to weave. From the 2019 season, the comfort will be further increased with greater use of the material: Cane-line Soft Rope – a polypropylene rope with a soft, comfortable surface which is also weather and UV-resistant and easy to clean. The weaving method has been developed in close cooperation with craftsmen in workshops in Indonesia, and scrupulous craftsmanship gives the range a very special look. To make the seating experience extra comfortable, the entire Peacock range comes with seat cushions in Cane-line Natté, which has a fabulously soft surface.

Welcome to the 2-seater sofa, footstool and sun lounger

 

With the addition of an elegant 2-seater sofa and a footstool (which by virtue of its tempered glass top (accessory) can be transformed into a coffee table or a side table), it is now possible to build a complete outdoor lounge in the Peacock lounge range. The new, generously-sized 2-seater sofa is perfect for company and ideal for putting your feet up and enjoying a little me time in the shelter of its wide, shielding back.

There is also a luxurious new sun lounger offering so much space that you almost want to move into it. A small teak table or a shading parasol can be mounted in the middle of the sun lounger. A real piece of luxury that will probably find its way into the best spot in the garden or into the pool areas of big hotels.

There’s always room for one more on the dining bench

Dining benches are sprouting up in dining areas because they are conducive to togetherness and conversation. Now Cane-line is taking this cosy trend outside.

Getting the family and friends together for a meal or perhaps just tea and homemade cake has become a far more relaxed affair. There is a renewed focus on pleasant, informal get-togethers rather than large, organised dinners. So, the dining bench is increasingly becoming part of the interior design. It is wide and offers flexible seating and it is of a height suitable for the dining table. In reality, it is perhaps a revival of the traditional wall bench, where there was always room for an extra guest or the neighbour’s children. Cane-line is introducing no fewer than two dining benches to the range of comfortable and relaxing designer furniture for enjoying life outside.

Moments is Cane-line’s popular range in galvanised powder coated steel in Cane-line’s special Soft Rope and combines simple frame legs with slates and the soft textile rope. The range is designed by the duo Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen MDD, and they have added a Moments dining bench to the 2019 season. “The dining bench provides two seats with a different look, and you move a little closer to your guests – plus it’s a space saver. It is particularly ideal on balconies, which many modern apartments have today,” says Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen MDD. Another new addition to the Moments line is the Moments dining chair in dusty blue with a tone on tone seat cushion, as well as a high bar stool in classic grey. The latter is distinguished by having something as luxurious as armrests, which add to the seating comfort considerably.

The generous Mega range, designed by ByKato, has also seen the addition of a dining bench. Where Moments is slim and simple, Mega is bolder. The range provides a generous seating experience with width and depth, fully in keeping with the lounge furniture of the same line. So, there is also plenty of space on the Mega dining bench, which is almost deserving of the title “dining sofa”. The double-braided Cane-line Weave® creates the bowl-shaped, hand-woven top, in which you can almost disappear.
