The Danish design duo Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen have created this beautiful lounge version of their 2013 design hit – SIDD. The SIDD lounge chair has a light look and a fantastic comfort level. A lounge chair that is based on a light and strong steel frame, which in combination with the strong Cane-line Rope fibre contributes to a perfect end result. SIDD lounge chair comes with brown or white Cane-line ROPE fibre.
The SIDD lounge chair is equipped with an arm in natural rattan – that makes the chair more raw in its expression.

Rattan is the rascal of the jungle. Rattan belongs to the palm family. It is a climbing plant that grows over trees and other plants in the rainforest. There are about 600 species of rattan. Cane-line uses only the best and strongest for furniture production.
The stems are cut manually in the jungle, meaning the harvest does not damage the flora and fauna in any way. Rattan is an incredibly fast growing palm, which makes it a very sustainable material. The outer layer of rattan plant is peeled off and used for weaving.
The core of the rattan is used to make furniture, which due to its movement and flexibility enables it to create a unique and very COMFORTABLE design.

All processing is conducted in accordance with the International certifications SA8000 (social responsibility) and ISO14001 (environmental management). Rattan is harvested in Sumatra and processed in Java.

The Rattan stems are cut manually in the jungle, meaning the harvest does not damage the flora and fauna in any way. For the locals, rattan is an alternative to cutting down the rainforest around them.
