The Spin chair combines modern design with a passionate and traditional craft. It is an elegantly manufactured chair in natural rattan and steel, which almost floats on a simple yet elegant frame. The beautiful rattan weave embraces the body and offers unique comfort and a visually stunning aesthetic. Spin exhibits both modern and classical elements.
The chair can, therefore, be used wherever one wishes – as a dining chair, an extra chair by the small desk, or as a meeting chair in the office. In other words, Spin will adapt to the environment, and your particular individual needs.
The Spin Chair is available in Natural and white-painted Rattan. The seat cushion is available in the innovative Trim fabric from Cane-line, stretched over the uniquely shaped base, which only requires very light cleaning, and minimal maintenance.
Spin is designed by Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen with roots in a traditional Scandinavian design, which includes a respect for nature and original craftsmanship.

Rattan is the rascal of the jungle. Rattan belongs to the palm family. It is a climbing plant that grows over trees and other plants in the rainforest. There are about 600 species of rattan. Cane-line uses only the best and strongest for furniture production.
The stems are cut manually in the jungle, meaning the harvest does not damage the flora and fauna in any way. Rattan is an incredibly fast growing palm, which makes it a very sustainable material. The outer layer of rattan plant is peeled off and used for weaving.
The core of the rattan is used to make furniture, which due to its movement and flexibility enables it to create a unique and very COMFORTABLE design.

All processing is conducted in accordance with the International certifications SA8000 (social responsibility) and ISO14001 (environmental management). Rattan is harvested in Sumatra and processed in Java.

The Rattan stems are cut manually in the jungle, meaning the harvest does not damage the flora and fauna in any way. For the locals, rattan is an alternative to cutting down the rainforest around them.
