The Kubus Bowl is based on original sketches by Mogens Lassen, and features elements evocative of the Bauhaus school, one of Mogens Lassen’s primary inspirations. The German design school believed that good design should be accessible to the people, and this concept appealed to architect Mogens Lassen. The Kubus Bowl is produced in Denmark with a focus on high quality and solid craftsmanship, and the bowl is a natural extension of the iconic Kubus candleholder, designed by Mogens Lassen in 1962. The Kubus Bowl is suitable for home decoration year-round and can contain everything from spring blossoms to herbs, fruits, or your favourite candy.

By Lassen is amongst the few Danish design companies that primarily manufacture locally. The Kubus collection, Frame storage solution and ML42 stools, amongst other products, are crafted by exceptionally skilled Danish craftsmen who take pride in delivering design pieces of the highest quality.
Design
The now expanded Kubus collection, partly designed by Mogens, partly by his grandson, Søren Lassen, is still crafted in Denmark and it has achieved the status of a modern international icon. Mogens Lassen’s love for vigorous mathematical proportions and expressions is the red thread in this epochal collection.
Handcrafted
At the time of their creation, the Kubus candleholders were reserved for family, good friends and close architect colleagues. The Kubus was put into production only after Mogens Lassen’s death and it is still crafted in Denmark. Amongst design lovers around the world, the Kubus has gone on to achieve the status of a modern international design icon.

Not only is the manufacturing process infused with the same love as when the products were originally created, It is the respect for each product’s individual history, the environment, and the joy of being part of the process that creates its high-quality craftsmanship that by Lassen is known for. MOGENS LASSEN
Architect Mogens Lassen (1901-1987) is among the greatest and most influential of Danish architects, a pioneer of Danish Functionalism, and is internationally renowned for his characteristic architecture. Mogens Lassen was inspired by the German design school Bauhaus, and its geometric shapes recur often in his iconic designs.
